Hot Shots For Halloween
You’d think I would have learned by now- a recipe just for the blogs sake never works out as intended. It is the german chocolate cake debacle of ’84 all over again. An event that turned me against baking for years. A day in which I learned you cannot properly frost a still warm cake and that I do not like that coconut frosting. But it sounds so good- German Chocolate, not like coconut at all. And today, today I was going to create candy corn for grown up forgetting that I don’t really like candy corn for kids. And after one recipe morphed into another I was left with a kitchen coated in sugar and caramels that were not quite right. I was attempting a riff on these delicious looking caramels from Bon Appetit what I got was lighter, softer and never going to be shaped into candy corn.
And so I turn to cocktails. Ghoulish looking shots. Hot shots. Oh yeah. Hot shots for Halloween.
A little boozy and a little tangy with a sweet candy finish perfect for today.
